Inspiration for closing an open staircase
Do you have an open staircase in your home and do you want to transform it into a closed staircase? Then be inspired by Jeffrey's project, who has achieved a beautiful transformation with custom-sawn wood from TOSIZE.se. In this DIY inspiration, we give you a glimpse into the steps Jeffrey went through to give his staircase a completely new look.
The transformation step by step
The photos show how Jeffrey carefully obtained custom wooden panels from TOSIZE.se and installed them to fill the spaces between the steps. The panels, made from 18mm Underlayment Finnish Spruce, were precision-fitted into the open spaces of the staircase. The wood pieces were cut to fit and finished in a white tone that harmonizes with the surroundings.
Benefits of a DIY Stair Renovation
By doing the closing of an open staircase yourself, as Jeffrey did, you benefit from the opportunity to completely customize the dimensions and materials. In addition to the creative freedom, this DIY project offers considerable savings compared to a professional renovation. Moreover, you can determine the finish and style entirely to your own taste, matching the rest of your interior.
The benefits of Finnish Spruce
Underlayment Finnish Spruce is a popular type of wood for DIY projects, partly due to its strength and light weight. The type of wood is easy to process, offers a nice, even surface for paint and is therefore ideal for closing an open staircase. The natural pattern of the wood gives Jeffrey's staircase an authentic look that contributes to the overall charm of the project.
