Ordering softboard sheets online

Order sawn softboard and other Wooden sheets and board material easily online. Softwood fibreboard is easy to saw and process to size. This thin, medium-hard pressed material completes your project. The material is relatively porous and therefore not suitable for making furniture or other solid constructions.

Softboard: what is it?

Softboard is a thin fibre-rich board held together by a natural binder, which means that no additional glue is needed for pressing. The material is compressed under medium-high pressure so that there is a fair amount of air between the fibres. This makes the board heat and sound insulating to a certain extent.

Softwood fibreboard is primarily a constructional board. This board material has rough surface layers with an unfinished coarse brown fibre structure.

Available thicknesses of softboard

With us, you order standard high-quality softwood fibreboard. So you can be sure that the board material meets your requirements: both the format and the thickness of the material. The following thicknesses are available: .

Machining of softboard sheets

The board consists of wood fibres that are compressed under medium high pressure. This makes the material easy to process. When milling or sawing, this board material does not splinter. For mounting, you can choose to nail or screw this material. Softboard is best left untreated. Due to the fibre structure, the material is not suitable for paint, varnish or moisture-resistant finishes because these do not adhere well.

Specific applications of softboard

Softboard is an easy-to-process sheet material that can be used for various interior panelling applications. Softboard is an ideal product for packing items or as insulation between walls, floors and ceilings. It is also the basis for a classic product such as a pin board or crafts where a soft material with grip is required.

Alternatives to standard board

Is softwood fibre not the right type of wood for your job? Looking for board with a grain? Then go for poplar plywood. Do you want board material that can be used outdoors? Then take a look at phenolic plywood, MDF tricoya or multiplex okoumé
