Description
I made a radiator conversion from strips of MDF Lakdrager, where the vertical and horizontal parts are glued together at 45 degrees and the side is also glued at 45 degrees.
How did you make the conversion?
First, I painted the sawn edges of all parts (except the mitered edges) twice with MDF primer. Then a part of 84.0 x 10.0 cm (vertical side) is glued with a horizontal part of 20.0 x 10.0 cm. Always use a 90 gr glue clamp. Ultimately, 19 parts are created, with the side walls also glued in on the left and right. I then first painted all the loose parts twice in the correct color. As a next step, install a horizontal slat at the correct height against the wall (84.0 cm minus material thickness, in this case 18 mm) on which the horizontal parts of the frame will rest. Then you also place a slat on the floor against which the vertical parts are attached. (I attached this with double-sided tape so as not to damage the floor). Then you attach all the parts 1 by 1 against both the horizontal slat and the one on the floor, in my case I glued them with quick-drying wood glue. To attach the parts at the correct and the same distance apart, I took a slat of 12 mm thickness and sawed spacers from it.
What are the dimensions?
Outside dimensions are: 210 .7 x 84.0 x 20.0 cm.
